How To Make Sure Halloween Candy Is Safe

Without candy, the festive of Halloween can never be completed. At that time, kids are free to eat any type of candy. But we have to make sure that the candy which our kids are taking is safe for them or not. There are many way to check that the Halloween candy is safe or not. Now, in this guide, I am going to give you some tips for checking the safest candy.

You can check the packaging of the Halloween candy. The packaging of the candy must be clean, smooth, unwrinkled and appear fresh. You can check for any chewed edge or holes in the wrapper, which shows that the candy can be gnawed by rats.

Always check the expiry date of the candy. This ensures that the candy has not been sitting around rotting in someone’s cupboard for years.

You can check by smelling the candy. Chocolate should have a faint chocolate odor, some candies such as candy corn, should not smell like anything but perhaps a whispering of sugar.

You can check the candy by opening the wrapper. The edges of the candy should be crisp, seamless. Although it is highly unlikely, a candy can sometimes be be accidentally or intentionally injected or laced with narcotics, therefore it is better to check it for puncture marks or cuts.

When you open the candy, you can use any sharp kitchen knife to slice through any candy that can be sliced through. Inspect the center of the candy pieces, making sure they are free of mold and strange objects.

First taste it and never eat the whole candy bar while your child looks on in expectation. If you find any acidic, almond like flavor that is not supposed to be there. Then spit the candy out and immediately throw it away.
